Prejudice is pre-judging; it is an unfair thought or opinion about a person or group of people because of their religion or race. It is often based on rumour. Stereotyping is a fixed mental image about a group. Discrimination is prejudice in action, the person or group are treated differently. People may want to be prejudice for one of the following reasons:> Media - Children learn ideas from television and cartoons, and other programmes contain stereotypes.> Family - This will be the primary source of ideas and includes a child's relatives.> Peer groups - Some children alter their ideas and opinions to fit in with those of their friends.> Scapegoating - When a minority group is blamed for the economic downfalls.> Ignorance - It is often easier to believe a rumour than to check the facts. ??
