Explain what Christians Believe About Human Life Being Sacred. Many Christians in our present day and age believe that human life is sacred, but what do they base their beliefs on? There are three main sources for these beliefs. First of all, there is the Old Testament. In this part of the Bible, we find numerous quotes which say that human life is sacred. Here are just a few: "The word of the Lord came to me thus: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you." (Jeremiah 1:4-5). What Jeremiah is saying here is that human life begins, in Gods eyes, from conception and that human life should be respected and sanctified from that point.
