Introduction The Christian church began 2000 years ago in Jerusalem. However the first Christians did not have special buildings, they would simply gather together in each others houses to pray. At first there was just one group of churches and they all worshipped God in a similar way but by the year 1054ce Christians started to disagree over their beliefs and how God should be worshiped. This resulted in the church splitting into two branches; the Roman Catholic Church which was based in Rome and the Orthodox Church which was based in turkey. The word church has two meanings: It can be the place where Christians worship gad and can also be the name of the people who worship in that place. The place that I worship...
