Compare 4 poems in which violence is shown Violence, what would the world be like without violence? For a number of characters in these poems violence is a part of their everyday life. Violence exists in different forms and can be inflicted in different ways. In 'Hitcher' by Simon Armitage violence got to the extreme as he physically beat someone to death and threw him out the car. In 'Stealing' by Carol Ann Duffy the violence came from anger and the anger had been built up so much that he took it out on a snowman due to his jealousy for other people in life. In 'Education for Leisure' also by Carol Ann Duffy the violence was brought on by depression and insanity because he was so unrecognized he was urged more and more by every person who ignored him to do something that would make him known ad famous....
