Religious Education Coursework no. 1: Marriage AO1 I think that the most important principles in a marriage are these: - The Golden Rule - Do Not Commit Adultery - Only Worship One God - Honesty - Trust - Permanence - Exclusivity - Fruitfulness "The Golden Rule" states that you should treat others how you would like them to treat you. This is important in a marriage because if you treat your partner badly, then they will treat you badly as well, and then the marriage will be a bad one, and a divorce will probably end up happening. If both people in a marriage keep to the "Golden Rule" then as well as it being a good, trustful relationship, the marriage will probably go on for longer because each partner is treating the other one with respect, so they want to spend more time together.
