Aim My aim is to discover whether the increase in the divorce rate id sue to a reduction in the stigma attached to divorce and liberalization in people attitudes. My hypothesis is: The increase in the divorce rate is due to liberalization in social attitudes I believe that my hypothesis is correct because there has been an increase in the divorce rate recently, particularly after the divorce reform act (1969) I am going to research divorce because there are lots of different theories on what has led to the increased divorce rate; there isn't a fully accepted theory on the topic.
