Give reasons to support your answer and show that you have thought about different points of view. What is euthanasia? People have different ideas, concepts and understandings of the word euthanasia. These must be carefully clarified. The Oxford Dictionary defines euthanasia as the following : ' The act of causing somebody to die gently and without pain, especially when they are suffering from a painful, incurable disease.' ( from Greek eu = well/good and thanatos = death ) So euthanasia means literally a good death. Some people call euthanasia 'mercy killing'.
