Such charities whether it is Christian aid or the Salvation Army all believe in one common goal and that is helping the needy. What is meant by needy is people who live in a third world country or people who are financially undeveloped. The charity Christian Aid was set up at the end of the Second World War to relieve countries that were badly affected. Christian aid has spread to over 40 churches in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Through fundraising activities and door-to-door pledges the charity has raised above 40 Million pounds sterling. The main bulk of the money goes to development, which means that goes into improving health, sanitation and population control. Some churches instead of creating their own charities have joined Christian
