The treatment and care of the poor is fundamental to both the Old and New Testament. In this assignment I will be looking at the biblical and Christian teachings with regard to the care of the needy and poor. Looking at the Old and New Testament the following texts demonstrate the teachings of the care towards the poor. "He who closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself cry out and not be heard". This extract is from Proverbs 21 v13 and explains that if you see a man begging on the streets and you ignore him then if the unfortunate happens and you find yourself in a similar situation then God will ignore you.
