The Roman Catholic Church teaches that abortion denies the most fundamental of all human rights - the right to exist. They believe that any kind of abortion of a foetus is murder, and breaches the sixth of the Ten Commandments: "Thou shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13) Any Catholic that is involved in an abortion may be excommunicated from the church and would not be allowed to be buried in a catholic graveyard.
