Katie Travers Explain the beliefs Christians hold and their responsibility at the beginning of their lives. All Christians believe that abortion is wrong as they believe that life begins at conception. By removing the foetus by up to 24 weeks of the pregnancy is murder. On day 1 the new life has inherited 23 chromosomes from each parent, which have determined that child's sex, hair, colour, height, skin tone all contained in one cell. In the UK abortions can be performed up to 24 by this time the baby can turn around and swim, their eye lashes and eye brows have formed, the child becomes sensitive to pain and is able to hear voices outside the womb. In exodus 20:1-17 (the Ten Commandments) "do not kill" this supports that murder is against God's law.
