Christians believe that all people are created in the image of God and are equal in Gods sight. Therefore everyone should be treated equally and have equal rights and not be treated cruelly. The first basic right to everyone is the right to life. "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person." (Article 3) "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment." (Article 5) The Catholic Church teaches that life begins at conception, so abortion is always wrong. Abortion is the premature expulsion of a foetus from the womb.
