Her doctor advises her to have an abortion. The Collins English dictionary, defined Rubella (German measles) as, 'A mild contagious viral disease...It can cause congenital defects if caught during the first three months of pregnancy.' The doctor, in this situation, would have advised the young woman to have an abortion, because he is thinking about the quality of the child's life, but what is more important; the quality of a life or the quantity of a life? Abortion is the termination of a foetus; the foetus is removed prematurely from the womb before it is able to survive, and the procedure is able to take place up to the twenty fourth week of pregnancy.
