Are the Roman Catholic Church's teachings on moral issues old fashioned and out of touch with modern society? Answer this with reference with to particular issues. A common question that has been raised up towards the Roman Catholic Church is weather their teachings are out of touch with modern society. Two issues which are very common today in modern society are abortion and divorce. These two issues are spreading throughout society and through different ages and religions. They are common issues in modern society and recently in the media. On 16th January 2006 over one hundred and fifty thousand people took to the street of Milan in protest in defense of Italy's abortion rights. The protesters accused the government of working with the Vatican in an attempt to reverse a 1978 law that makes abortion legal in Italy during the first trimester.
