Abortion Abortion is the termination of a foetus. There are two types of abortion, natural abortion and Procured Abortion. A natural abortion is a miscarriage, and this is not illegal. A procured abortion is the deliberate removal of the foetus from the womb, which is called termination of pregnancy. Abortions can be done in 6 different ways depending on how long the woman has been pregnant. 1. 72 Hours If a woman has unprotected sex, she can take a pill up to 72 hours after it occurred. This pill is called Levonelle-2 more commonly known as "the morning after pill". It works by stopping the ovaries from releasing an egg, preventing sperm from fertilising any egg that may have already been released or stopping a fertilised egg from attaching itself to the womb lining.
