Abortion - a discussion on the debate and Christian teaching When a woman becomes pregnant an embryo is formed which has the potential to develop through all the stages of the human life-span. If at any point the process of development is deliberately halted then an abortion has occurred. An abortion is the intentional destruction of a foetus or the inducing of a premature expulsion from the womb to cause its death. Human life, born or unborn, must be treated with reverence and respect. Abortion causes much controversy in Great Britain and in the rest of the world. There are two main viewpoints regarding abortion: Pro Life - The name given to opponents of abortion who believe in the value of all human life, including the lives of unborn children. And Pro Choice - The name given to supporters of abortion and feel it is the woman's life to terminate her pregnancy. Abortion...
