Religion and Sexism In Hinduism, both the man and the woman have important parts to play and they both have to perform their duties well to keep the family going, as each gender has a Dharma (Truth, Virtue, The Right Code of Conduct appropriate for someone`s social status and Stages of Life). However, in the past, men and women lived life very differently to how it is now and it still happens nowadays in many traditional families and in many poor families. In poor families, they cannot afford to send all their children to school, so they normally send Boys to school rather the Girls because they think that in the future, Boys are expected to serve the family financially whilst Girls do lower, domestic jobs. This would seem unfair to Girls and it would be sexist but many Hindu Beliefs tell us that if a Women performs her duties well
