Is there a message for people today in the book of Revelation? The Book of Revelation also called Revelation to John, Apocalypse of John and Revelation of Jesus Christ. It is the last canonical book of the New Testament in the Bible and was written sometime around 96 CE.The Revelation or the apocalypse (from the Greek word for "unveiling" or "revealing" ) concerns the end of time. The message of the book is given by God through Jesus and his angle to "his servant"John". It is the only biblical book that is wholly composed of apocalyptic literature. The author of Revelation identifies himself several times as "John" (1:1, 4, 9; 22:8).He was probably a Christian from Ephesus known as "John the Elder.
