Faced with the issues of Abortion and Euthanasia. Explain how a Christian would respond. Christians believe that Human life is sacred and in today's society many practices undermine this teaching daily, through the likes of abortion and euthanasia. In 1973, the Supreme Court's decision made it possible for women to get safe, legal abortions from well-trained medical surgeons, and therefore led to dramatic decreases in pregnancy-related injury and death (abortion). At the moment euthanasia is illegal throughout the world apart from in the State of Oregon, where there is a law specifically allowing doctors to prescribe lethal drugs for the purpose of euthanasia. In the Netherlands it is practiced widely, although, in fact, it remains illegal. The Majority of religions disapprove of Euthanasia and Abortions and Christianity holds a firm on were they stand on their argument against.
