AO1 Explain what a study of Marks Gospel can tell Christians about the nature of discipleship. The term disciple is given to a person that believes in a person and preaches the word of that person to others. Like a teacher teaching their pupils a task and they then go on and use the task later in their lives. A follower of Christ is also referred to as a Christian disciple who is a person who believes in the teachings of Jesus and tries to live their life according to his teachings. In Marks Gospel discipleship is another important theme, and within it mark outlines the importance of discipleship through 'Cost of Discipleship' (Mk 8:34-38) Marks gospel shows that Jesus has power and authority over humans.
