' Baptising babies is pointless' Do you agree? Give reasons for your answer, showing that you have consider more then one point of view. I disagree with the statement baptising babies is pointless. When a child is baptised it automatically becomes a member of the Christian community. The child will grow up with the support, love and help and also learning to love God with the help of their local community. It is also an opportunity for the parents and the Christian community to renew their own commitment to God. Once baptised you can receive the other six sacraments. The child will be able to receive the sacraments of reconciliation at times when they need God's forgiveness and they will also be able to receive the Eucharist.
