A) DESCRIBE THE BAPTISM CEREMONY Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation. The sacrament incorporates a person into the church to share in the mission of the church and welcomes the new member as a Christian. The sacrament demands preparation and celebration both individually and as a community. The sacrament is celebrating new life. Baptism is a sign of God's welcome and the welcome of the Christian community. The welcoming takes place at the entrance to the church where the priest welcomes the child and its family to God's house. The priest then invites them to come to the baptismal font. He then explains to the parents what exactly baptising their child will entail.
