Matthew McDonald CP 101 Dr. Charles Workman November 18th, 2004 Misery of the Human Condition and Buddhism, Correlations and Differences Both Roman Catholicism and Buddhism are well established world religions, and both have a major worldwide following. Although at first glance they seem to be quite different from one another, which they are, they also share many basic common visions and aims. The intent through the next few pages is to point out these shared characteristics and differences, and to discuss them in an objective manner. Roman Catholicism and Buddhism both base their teachings on the vision and commandments of a single founder. Buddhism bases their beliefs and teachings on those presented by Gautama the Buddha, while Roman Catholicism bases theirs on Jesus the Christ.
