Explain how following the Eightfold Path affects Buddhists in their daily lives The Eightfold path is the way of life that Buddhists need to follow in order to reach enlightenment. These will affect the way a Buddhist lives in modern society. In this essay I shall go through each of the points of the Eightfold path and explain how each one would affect the way a Buddhist lives. Firstly is Right Understanding. This is seeing reality as it is and not seeing what you want to see. This would have little effect on a Buddhist's life. The only effect on the Buddhist would be that they would be unable to dream about how life should be. Secondly comes Right Thoughts. This is having the right attitude towards life.
