... Is Darwin's theory a genuine scientific theory? Firstly in order to answer this question one must refer to the assertion which is "what is a scientific theory"? One must not debate on what is a genuine theory but instead on what is a scientific theory. Just as in discussing the validity of an argument you must overlook the premises e.g. modus tollens where you first identify what makes a modus tollens then you systemically break down an argument. Therefore we must first see what a scientific theory is. A scientific theory makes observations via inductions for example if you see that a particular tablet gives you deadly side effects. Science would create a study whereby a hundred participants would be isolated and given a real tablet and the effects measured and a hundred other participants who would be given a placebo tablet.
