Have a little read: ... Art History I Term Paper Assignment By Daniel Hinojosa 11/14/01 Much of our knowledge about ancient Egyptian art culture is based on elaborate worship rituals related to death and the afterlife. Egyptians were devoted to their gods and to their pharaohs who were gods on earth, as demonstrated by their willingness to build the pyramids for the safe passage of their leaders into the afterlife. They also used many artifacts to show the importance of their adoration towards the gods. Along with pyramids they made different kinds of statues. These statues were set inside and outside temples or burials. The countries of the ancient world used to make this point are Sumer and Egypt. A small religious Votive Statue of Eannatum, The Prince of Lagash is compared with the intimate nineteenth dynasty Egyptian Block Statue of Official clasping emblem of God Min with figures of God Ptah.
