Coursework 2 In this essay I will be answering the questions "From a study of British history is it possible to question the widespread vision of Britain as a country characterised by a spirit of toleration" and "from your studies how far do you agree that Britain has been a tolerant nation?" To do this I will use my own knowledge of immigration to Britain and sources F, G aswell as source D. Source D is an interview adapted from the book "Windrush" by Mike Phillips. This particular book was published in 1998, fifty two years later than the dates it states in the book on page 12. This could definitely be a reason for believing the source is unreliable as the person who wrote the book has waited at least fifty years till he recalled the story in a book. This could mean some details of the story are missing...
