Rui Zhang 25.05.05 The Provisional Government Focus Task Page 113 1) After the Provisional Government took over in 1917, it faced the three most important problems which were the war, lack of food and the land. a) The Provisional Government was discussing if they should continue with the war or make peace. They went on with the war, but that was a bad choise. Sodiers were deserting in the army collapsed, authority and obedience disappeared, sodiers turned into robbers and got drunk frequently. b) The peasants were supposed to wait to get land, but they took control of it. The soldiers, most ot them being peasants, took their chance to take the land. The was the end of land owners. c) There were hardly food and long waiting-lines for bread. 2) The Provisional Government under Kerensky had no real power, but was interested in a democracy.
