Scottish and Welsh nationalism A= The SNP and the Plaid Cymru have been considered as 'others according to the text because they do not have field candidates. Over 80% of the British population live in England so they are representing few. More people live in Greater London than Scotland and Wales put together. The seats that have been won by the SNP and Plaid Cyrmu have been relatively few. They are not considered important within Westminster and their seats are so few that their opinions don't really cause a threat to the leading parties. B= Ever since Scotland and Wales devolved in 1997 they have done well at elections and maintained there positioned in Westminster and the local government, winning more seats.
