A Stranger In The Midst For our GCSE drama project we have been set an assignment to devise a play based around the title "A Stranger In The Midst" . We were also given a brief outline that our play had to be based around. The piece of drama had to be about a stranger that came into a community and disrupted the normal life. We started by looking at three texts. The first we looked at was a film called "The Birthday Party" by Harold Pinter. It was contemporary 1960's piece about a couple named Meg and Petey who own a not very successful boarding house. A man named Stan also takes up residence in the house. Two men, Goldberg and Mcann who are agents, arrive at the house and reduce Stan to a dumb shadow of his former self using mental torture. The second book we looked at was "The...
