Measuring distances of a parallax object Research Parallax is when one object seen is in such a position where at two angles they seem to be at the same position. Parallax is usually used in astronomy where stars can be seen in parallax. Apparatus * 4 needles * Plain A4 paper * Cork mat * Plain mirror * Block fixing mirror * Bluetak * Protractor * Full length ruler Diagram Image Pins Cork mat Plane mirror Block fixing mirror Normal line to mirror Object Pins Plain paper Method 1. Place the paper on top of the cork mat 2. Place the protractor on the left edge of the paper so you can make a 90o mark on the paper 3.
