PHYSICS COURSEWORK INVESTIGATION TO FIND THE EFFECT OF THE HEIGHT OF A SLOPE ON THE SPEED OF A MARBLE INTRODUCTION My experiment will be undertaken to find out if setting a ramp at different heights and then rolling a marble down it will affect the average speed of the marble. If this is the case then I will need to try and find an emerging pattern of the differing speeds. I will also need to consider all the factors that could affect this experiment. To do this I will undertake preliminary tests to aid with some of my decisions, for example the run off distance of the marble to measure the average speed of the marble, as this will need to be long enough to record accurately, but also short enough to prevent the marble from coming to a standstill.
