Aim: My aim is to find which material from the following; copper aluminum, glass, brass and steel conducts heat the best. Information: Before I even start this investigation I already know a few common facts. Metals are all good conductors of heat. However some metals conduct heat better than others do. I am going to extend what I presently know further by carrying out this investigation. I also know that glass is a non-metal, therefore will not conduct much heat. When something, whether it be a solid, liquid or a gas, is heated the molecules start to vibrate and crash into each other. When the molecules do this the vibration is passed to other molecules. One big difference between a metal and a non-metal is that metals have free-moving electrons (negatively charged particles), and their atoms, or ions, are touching one another.
