PHYSICS COURSEWORK AIM: The aim of this investigation is to find out the resistance of a piece of resistance wire. The resistance depends on the length of the wire. My aim is to find the length of wire needed to make the required resistors. The resistors have to be 5ohms 10ohms and 15ohms. PREDICTION: I predict that the longer the wire the higher the resistance will be. This is because of the free moving atoms in the wire. In a longer piece of wire there would be more free atoms for the electrons to collide with therefore the resistance would be greater. The resistance should be directly proportional to the length of the wire. This is because if the length of the wire was doubled there would be double the number of free electrons.
