Physics Coursework - Factors Which Affect The Resistance Of A Wire Aim: To investigate which factors affect the resistance of a wire. I am going to run a series of tests to investigate whether the length of the wire affects the resistance. Hypothesis: The length of the wire will make a difference. I predict that as the length of the wire increases, the resistance of the wire will also increase. This is because as the wire gets longer, more and more electrons have to travel down to the positive end and they have longer to travel. This results in a greater possibility of an electron colliding with an atom, causing resistance. To make this test fair, the diameter of the wire will remain the same in each test.
