Factors which affect the Electrical Resistance of a Wire. Planning. Resistance is anything that slows down the flow of electrons around a circuit; meaning less current is flowing around. There are a number of factors, which will affect resistance. These are; * Type of wire: depending on how much of a good conductor the wire is, it has a lower resistance. * Length of wire: this is the same as using a variable resister. It varies the current in the circuit i.e. the longer the more resistance there is in the wire. * Temperature: as the temperature of the wire increases, the resistance within the wire also increases. * Diameter/cross sectional area: as the diameter of the wire increases, the resistance decreases. The factor that I shall investigate will be the length of the wire, as well as increasing the amps/current flowing around the circuit. I predict that as the length of the wire increases, and the...
