Warm up Use the warm up to begin the training session or before match play to prepare the body with the demands you are about to place on it. You should be ready to work at game pace at the end of the warm up. Warm up phases; 1. Continuous sub maximal whole body aerobic exercise such as jogging, which gently raises pulse rate to about 120 beats/min and this increases the temperature of the muscles. 2. A stretching and mobilising session should take place where particular attention should be paid to the main joints used during a netball game. 3. Specifically rehearse the movement patterns that will be performed, for example performing skill practises.
