A WARM-UP FOR FOOTBALL 1. Start with a light jog for a few minuets, just normal speed just to get the muscles warmed up. 2. Then whilst jogging bring into the exercise some different movements that will test the muscles, such as the butt kickers, knee up's and the side steps. Do this for several minutes. 3. Then slow the jog down and begin some light stretching exercises. Hold the stretches for around 10 seconds. Try to stretch the main muscle groups that will be used for your chosen sport. In football it would be the hamstrings, quads, calf's, triceps and biceps etc. 4. Then start to begin to jog again, picking up the pace slightly. Now try to involve some fartlek running. (Sprinting ten yards and then jogging ten yards) 5. Try to incorporate some SAQ (Speed Agility & Quickness) small steps, do this as fast as possible for 10 to 15...
