HEALTH 'The term health can be defined that every person lives on a biological continuum that extends from a state of complete physical, mental and social health to overt illness.' [Physical Education, Don Webster, 97] FITNESS 'The ability to meet the daily physical demands of work and play without excessive fatigue and still have something in reserve.' [Don Webster, 97]. Why Are the Two Terms Different? Health and fitness are different because health can be defined in general terms to any person. Whilst fitness is specific to an individuals need. A good example would be a sumo-wrestler is able to perform in his sport and not struggle. Because physical fitness is ' the ability to meet the physical demands and physiological demands made by a particular sporting activity.' [Don Webster, 97].
