Sam Woodyatt 11KED Short course PE: Training program Planning: The purpose of my training program is to build up my upper body static strength. Static strength is defined as 'expending a maximum amount of energy in one or a series of strong, sudden movements'. I have chosen this aim because of the need for static strength in my sport which is rugby. I have good strength in my lower body however it lacked in my upper body which I need for scrums and lifting in the line outs. Before starting my training program, I had to identify safety aspects that could cause me an injury during the training program.
