Health Promoting Exercise and Fitness Training Programme 27th October 2001 Introduction Circuit training is a series of activities that can greatly improve a person's general fitness. A circuit can consist of any amount of 'stations'. Each station within the circuit requires a specific physical activity to be performed in a certain amount of time. Some circuits require normally about 8 to 12 stations in each, each activity can be classed as skill related or fitness related. There are many advantages that a circuit can offer that other training methods don't. These include; + Only a small amount of space is needed. + There is a certain amount of time allocated to each station, so that it will be managed easier. + A circuit can hold up to 20 people depending on how many stations there are. + A circuit can be personalised to a specific need.
