The number of overweight people in the UK has been steadily rising, and more than half of the Brits are now overweight. Of course this has been increasingly the case among adolescents. There are numerous reasons which explain the increase in the average Brit's body mass. Undoubtedly it is the environment and lifestyle, which play a significant role in making it almost impossible to maintain a healthy weight. It cannot be denied that the population is considerably less active. The availability of high-fat foods in the supermarket has also been unhelpful.
