Investigating the Effect of Changing The Concentration of Acid In The Reaction Between Calcium Carbonate And Hydrochloric Acid Sophie Quiney Aim I am investigating what happens when I change the concentration of Hydrochloric acid. This will change the rate of reaction between the hydrochloric acid and the marble chips (Calcium Carbonate). The hydrochloric acid will be diluted with distilled water to change the concentration. Variables Independent- This will be the concentration of hydrochloric acid and the time taken for the reaction to take place. Dependent- The volume of carbon dioxide will be measured and recorded. Control- The mass and size of the marble chips will be kept the same because I am using the same marble chips for each experiment even though some of the calcium carbonate will have dissolved in the solution it is more fair because it will then keep the...
