"Excellent. This is very well written and the essay presents an astute analysis of the opening sequence to the film, correctly identifying numerous visual cues that serve to create the right mood for the sequence. Every part of the sequence is discussed in detail, and the author clearly has a full understanding of the techniques used in the film. Perhaps one way in which the essay could be improved would be with the inclusion of a summary paragraph at the end to draw together all of the previous comments, but otherwise this is a very good piece of writing. Maybe, you could even talk about the injuries that are suffered, to try and add fear to the reader. It reads as a summary of characters from the book, but then finishes with a conclusion regarding the closeness of Lenny and George. There's little to no evaluation or analysis: the essay relies on general arm-waving when trying to suggest key points with regards to characters (which, admittedly, it comes up with good general descriptions for.)
