Media Coursework I have analysed the techniques used by two different charities. Many of these were persuasive. The two charities need money to continue to help people in need. Finally I will conclude and explain which charity will be more successful. The first thing that catches the reader's eye is the size of picture. It is about 40% of the piece compared to 95% sized picture on the Amnesty leaflet. This may be done because you can tell alot from a picture. This means you can tell peoples emotions better on a picture than in some descriptive writing. They are meant to shock the reader, making them feel sympathy. The Shelter picture shows young males and females "bedding down in London". It is a wide shot showing lots of people sleeping in terrible conditions. This makes the readers feel guilty and think about how lucky they are to have a roof...
