Of the several factors affecting alot of the ethnic minorities in the United Kingdom is the manner in which sensitive events involving them are covered and subsequently reported. Exaggerated, underrated, biased and sensationalised representation of ethnic minority events have historically done nothing but provoke anger, disgust and distrust of the media minority communities while nurturing feelings of resentment, apathy, distrust and hate among mainstream Britain of ethnic minorities. Selectivity of material also ranks high on the list of oppressive reporting tactics of certain news agencies.
