Assess the Hegemonic view of the mass media The aim of this essay is to assess the hegemonic view of the Mass Media. It will discuss ideologies; state some ideologies from the hegemonic view. It will criticize the hegemonic views from the pluralist views and will focus on the Glasgow University Media Group. Ideologies are very visible in the world we live in. We see them everyday in television newspapers radio and magazines. They are a set of beliefs formed by a specific social group holding some power in society. These beliefs have been created for a specific social group, ideas put forward usually to achieve the aims of the social groups that holds some power in society.
