Environmental Issues The materials used in my products production are: 1 DVD, cardboard, paper and plastic. The materials and resources all come from different sources. All the plastic in the product in the DVD + case had to be fractionally distilled from oil into separate parts before it could be used. The paper and cardboard both came from trees (wood pulp). It is easy to identify any kind of optical disc due to their distinctive design, and facilities do exist to recycle them. Paper and cardboard are also quite easy to identify and they are quite easy to recycle too. The paper and cardboard both come from trees which are definitely a renewable resource, seeing it can be as little as twenty years after planting that a tree is ready to be cut down. However the oil used to make the plastic is definitely not sustainable, apparently we don't have many more generations worth...
