Compare and contrast two television advertisements: God Bless This Child (VW Passat) Christmas 1990 (The Children's Society) The VW Passat advert is about a little girl who is walking through the busy streets of New York in the daytime with her dad. They get into the VW Passat, driven by the girl's mum, and then everything is calm. In The Children's Society advert, unlike the VW Passat advert, the young girl is on her own in the city at night. She walks through the streets and carries on walking at the end, she doesn't have anywhere to go. The girl in the VW Passat advert looks about five or six years old. As she walks through the bustling city there are many sights and sounds that alarm her but her dad protects her. You get the impression that she has had quite a sheltered life and has been protected from the 'real world'. She...
