They are told continually that to be accepted in today's society they must be thin. As a result, some teens resort to drastic dietary measures in an attempt to achieve this slenderness. Is it any wonder that eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia are on the increase amongst young people, boys as well as girls. CARD 2: But is this preference for thinness totally influenced by its glamorisation by the media. It certainly plays a big part, for just as parents have a major impact on the physical and spiritual development of their children, the media now plays an important part in the development of a teen's body image.
